The municipality of ’s-Hertogenbosch has awarded the redevelopment of the monumental Molengebouw on the Tramkade to the coalition Kade & Co. Within this coalition, ECLECT is developing the hospitality concept. In the iconic Mengfabriek, a former industrial building is given a new lease of life as a contemporary hostel concept where meeting, working and experiencing come together and where tourists mingle with locals. This hostel is designed for young adventurers, digital nomads, students, creatives and city breakers who love character, atmosphere and connection.
The Molengebouw is to get a dynamic plinth featuring hospitality venues and office space for a new generation of urban makers, united in the umbrella organisation De Archipel. ECLECT is translating this layered function into a hospitality concept that aligns with what is already thriving on the Tramkade: entrepreneurship, culture and community. In the coming years, this plan will be further developed and realised.
The coalition also consists of Buro Kade (initiator and architect), Piqet Development (developer), Alba Concepts (sustainability), Aannemersbedrijf M.P. Drijvers B.V. (restoration), and Barkade (co-investor, programming).
